Who we are
Alex de Parry founded Ann Arbor Builders, Inc. in 1971 just after graduating from University of Michigan.
The company has since served as the umbrella under which its operating entities have developed many subdivisions, built hundreds of single and multi-family homes, completed numerous residential and commerical remodeling projects, and owned, restored and managed many residential and commercial properties throughout southeast Michigan, southeast and southwest Florida and southeast Georgia.
Additionally, we own and have restored several historic buildings in Saginaw, Michigan where the company operates under the name of Old Town Saginaw Properties.
Now, more than 50 years after founding the company, Alex is still at the helm, making Ann Arbor Builders one of the oldest companies in Ann Arbor still owned and run by its founder.

Betsy de Parry is vice president of marketing and sales and the associate broker of de Parry Properties, a licensed Michigan real estate broker wholly owned by Ann Arbor Builders. She focuses solely on handling the company's projects.
How we do it
When Alex founded Ann Arbor Builders back in 1971, he was lucky enough to land a few remodeling jobs. Because he was young and inexperienced, he simply asked his clients what they wanted and then did it.
His own inexperience at the start formed the very foundation of our company’s philosophy: listen to our clients. And that’s what we’ve been doing all these years.

Giving Back
Alex is Past President and Life Director of the Building and Remodeling Association of Greater Ann Arbor (BRAG). He is currently President of the Old Town Saginaw Association and is on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Theodore Roethke Foundation. He and Betsy proudly support a number of organizations, including Avalon Housing and The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
